Alison
Evans – "Palmetto" Cast Interview 8/25/07
Alison
plays "Kara Parker" on Palmetto
1) What was the
attraction of doing this series?
Being able to identify
with my character, Kara, and portraying different but familiar high school drama.
2)
What makes PALMETTO different from any other teen drama you’ve seen?
The fact that Palmetto is a series about real kids in real situations, without
all the fluff of “Hollywood”.
3)
What are the challenges of playing a character coming from a small town?
There are always some challenges, but you learn how to make it work. Lucky
for me I grew up in a town that was quite parallel to Palmetto. Lots of money
and things to do, but even more to talk about!
4)
Without giving too much away, can you talk about your character?
Well, I’m the classic new girl in school that somehow squeezes in with the in
crowd, and maybe I bump into a love interest or two…
5)
How do you prepare for your scenes? What do you do to get “into character?”
I make sure I know my lines and sit down with my best friend, Corinne, and act
out the scenes with her. She knows me that best and helps me keep things realistic
and compatible with Kara’s and my personality.
6)
Without giving too much away, what has been your favorite scene to shoot?
I really haven’t had the chance to shoot all that much, being the new girl and
all, but I would have to say the scene when I meet a cute boy where some definite
flirting is in order!
7)
Is there any advice, wisdom, or comments your character would like to give the
fans?
Being the new girl in school is always difficult, trying to fit in, and find
out were you fit. Just staying confident in who you are is the best advice I
could give.
