Annie plays "Sue Alderson" on Palmetto

1) What was the attraction of doing this series?
When working as a professional actor in Central Florida, there is plenty of theatre, and some commercial/film work available, but this series is a rare and exciting opportunity to do a different type of project. The directors, coach, and production crew are professional and highly respected.

2) What makes PALMETTO different from any other teen drama you’ve seen?
I feel like these families and individual characters depicted in the story are a little more real and down to earth. I guess you could say, not so “Beverly Hills”.

3) What are the challenges of playing a character coming from a small town?
I did not grow up in a small town, so it is interesting to see how much everyone knows about, and are involved in each other’s lives!

4) Without giving too much away, can you talk about your character?
My character, Sue, is a new step mom trying to gain the trust and respect of Garrett, her stepson, without much success. At the same time, she is very much in love and enjoying her new life with her husband, Mitch. These two scenarios can make for a challenging family!

5) How do you prepare for your scenes? What do you do to get “into character?”
I draw on some of my own experiences as a mom as I think about how I might handle certain situations. I also find it very valuable to watch Tony (Mitch) and Charlie (Garrett) together as they are filming separate scenes. It helps me get a feel for how they interact and I can decide how to join them when we work together.

6) Without giving too much away, what has been your favorite scene to shoot?
We shot an emotional, short scene where Sue has a moment of realization of just how much this serious situation is affecting her husband, Mitch.

7) Is there any advice, wisdom, or comments your character would like to give the fans?
I hope they love the show, and find comfort in the fact that we all deal with many of the same issues in life.
