Interview with Producer/Director of Palmetto, Christopher K. Morgan
1) January 8th has finally arrived and now the world gets to see Palmetto,
describe how you're feeling:
CM: First and foremost, I am excited! Excited that, not only do our Cast/Crew get to
see it, but the world! That's a huge accomplishment. The next thing I'm feeling is
nerves, but I'm told that's natural? (smiles)
2) How do you feel about some of the feedback you've already gotten from the
release?
CM: Honestly, we have had a lot of great/positive reviews and it makes me happy
they enjoyed the story we're telling. Just like with everything in life though, you're
always going to have a critic here and there. All I can say is there are a lot of "Indies"
in this business talking about "I'm going to do this project" or "I'm working on an
idea for this project…" Well, we said we were going to do it, and guess what? WE
DID IT!! We shot 3 one hour-long episodes on a micro budget over a 4 month span
and I am VERY PROUD of what we have accomplished on limited funds. I can't say
enough about how dedicate the entire cast and crew are to this project. And that
shows in the final product.
3) So, where does Palmetto go from here?
CM: Hey, it goes wherever my mind and the minds of our writers take it. We have a
number of ideas, but really want to see how the viewers react. That could drive the
direction. But the bottom line I really would like to get back into production and
continue to help provide full time work for actors/crew here in Central Florida. I am
proud of our product, but we'll just wait and see what happens!
4) When you get back in production, will you be directing?
CM: Not for a while. I directed the first three, when I was only supposed to direct one
episode. I really want to be producing the show, which is where I was in the
beginning of this project.
5) Any last thoughts?
CM: It's been a wild ride up to this point. I am excited to share our hard work with
the world. Some of my peers have said to me that "it takes guts to put your work out
there to be judged" and I agree…however, we're a family! We all trust and love one
another, and I feel very confident and proud to put Palmetto out there with the team
we assembled and I'm anxious to hear "action" soon.
